yes my friends if you went to "witness college" you would know dinosaurs before "eden" ate tomatoes.
and in paradise snakes will give tender kisses to your ankles!!
what would david attenborough animal expert think of this nonsense.
i was just thinking about how the wts has been spouting off for years that satan and his demons were cast down to the vicinity of the earth in 1914, but really, when you think about it, what was the difference before 1914 or after 1914?.
its not like satan and his demons did not have access to the earth.
satan and his demons always were messing with earth.
They must have been so boooooored all those millions of years with nothing to do except worship Jehovah and tell him how wonderful he is.
Humans to play with was probably just too much temptation to resist. Like a new toy perhaps. Lol
my middle brother called me a couple of hours ago.
our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.
he hung himself.
So sorry for your loss.
You came here because you know we will understand and support you. It was probably instinct or your sub-conscious took over as you are in too much pain to think straight right now. Many of us on this site have lost some-one close through suicide and the range of emotions and pain you will go through will be the same those here also experienced. We are here for you. (((hugs)))
dear all,.
my health took a beating over the years with stress from various sources, not a little from the wt; and dangerous areas of work involving fumes and so on.
the arc also took its toll and i have had recently a heart attack.
Good Luck with your surgery Zeb xxx
i wonder how many of us here hold on to this meeting place out of "loneliness.
could it be that we harbor feelings of "abandonment" and "loneliness" from being left cold and dry by the wt people and our families?
perhaps we do have a need to reach out to people with similar experiences.
Not lonely at all even tho I live alone but with 16 hedgehogs, 2 axolotls, 3 budgies and a chihuahua.
I want to know the latest Watchtower craziness. I want to see signs of their demise. I also like to see new ones discovering this site and follow their journey, willing them to get discover they can fly free never to return to the mental trap or cage that is the Jehovah's Witness religion.
Edited to add: the loneliest place for me was always at the KH or an assembly.
some people point out the subliminal pictures in the wtbts publications but sometimes things are just so obvious, such as the title of the book above.. the person who came up with the title for this book must have had a good old laugh.. interestingly, this book first came out in 1988 and has not been included in the online library but nothing has replaced it.
the org is really going backwards when they ditch old light and cannot come up with anything new.
they are real wankers ;)..
Divergent you had the same experience as me. Only the reader and conductor had the new books. I had been ill and hospitalised due to severe depression so had not been to a meeting or read any littertrash for a few months. I had not marked the changes and was only vaguely aware of the "corrections"
None of it made sense as the "new light" was spoken out loud but I was reading what I always believed was "the truth". How does " truth" change. 2008 was a pivotal year for me and a year later I was out. Have not been "hospitalised" against my will again since either.
hi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.
as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.
that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.
Welcome The Walker
As many have said your English is perfectly understandable, well done.
Your comment "It was sad to see how immigrants where marked as 'potential witnesses' and how we were using their need and desperation to start bible studies"
The same for me living in the Canary Islands. We had a Red Cross centre where the sub-saharan boat people would stay whilst the Spanish authorities decided what to do with them. The witnesses were banned from knocking so instead would call through their windows or hang about in the park next door to "catch" them.
These immigrants were often women who had crossed a 30 km stretch of very dangerous water fleeing dire circumstance in their home country. Most were pregnant or had newborns whilst making the crossing to be assured of Spanish citizenship and not be immediately deported back.
They were English speaking plus had their own African dialects and were not Spanish speaking so they became our "potentials" for the English speaking congregation not the Spanish. This has apparently changed since the English congregation abandoned them when they moved the KH to the north of the island (that's another story of how that even happened but it was achieved dishonestly) and although they were good for the pioneers to count time it was 4 bus journeys or an 80 km round trip for the person conducting their study to collect them and take them home again. Needless to say they were dropped like hot potatoes but my point was this was my first inkling that the witnesses were not Christians or even particularly good.
These poor women and their babies had nothing when they arrived on our island apart from the clothes they were wearing so my daughters and I used to take clothes, toys and other stuff to help them and I got "counselled" by an elder for it and was told to "offer them only Bible studies as anything more may encourage them to come into the truth for the wrong reasons".
We started going to the Red Cross at night hoping we wouldn't be seen and that was when I thought to myself this isn't right. Helping these poor women and their babies, many who had already survived being set on fire by their husbands was something that had to be done in secret!!!!
I then started on-line research on apostate websites and after returning to UK went to one last meeting, the memorial of 2009. A year later I was totally free mentally as well physically. I was 50 so I am very happy you have discovered the hypocrisy whilst young enough to enjoy life and live your life to it's full potential free from guilt and fear. I also totally agree with others who have said to take it slow and keep your thoughts to yourself. You have plenty of time to get yourself free and then learn about those who successfully got their spouses and other relatives out without being shunned or losing them and how to go about it.
I look forward to following your progress. You will get plenty of support from us here as we understand the range of emotions you will likely experience and can help you through them.
Take care
Amelia
we all remember, one of the main reasons for removing the bookstudy was the high gas prices, well, have you looked at the gas prices today?
nationwide, the lowest is about $1.65, the highest is about $2.67.
isn't that right about the same gas prices as when they cancelled the bookstudy in the first place?
Having it drummed into us how important ALL the meetings were imagine my surprise upon moving to Spain that many meetings were cancelled.
Jah's holy spirit just couldn't get that all important literature to us and often there were no available speakers for the Sunday public talk so we all got to go to the local "cafe" or the beach an hour earlier.
so ofs got to comment again this morning and thought the comment might bring a smile to someone.the second half question on par.
15 was, "we cannot actually see jesus, sohow can we look intently at him?".
ofs commented, "of course, we cannot literally see jesus as peter did.
I know that will probably be the most awesome thing I read all day.
How long before they believe "if you have seen a member of the Governing Body you have seen God?." They are already starstruck if one visits locally and want photos.
